Im always the one at work that gets stuck doing the corrections. No matter where I have worked I get stuck with them. I don’t mind, I can charge more. I love it when people have the darkest hair possible done with a box colour and then think they can buy the lightest box colour and put it on top and think they will be blonde. And then they come in with green. You need to remove the dark colour first and then do what we need to do to keep lightening it. Go ahead and do it your self though, go orange. As the during picture above, with all the multi colours that came through when I was lifting out the black. And then there’s the clients who wont tell you that they have box colour on their hair and that it was done in the salon and you go to treat their hair and it doesn’t work, burns/melts off, or turns a totally different colour than it should have.
Another thing that gets me is when an experienced stylist can mess up a hair cut to the point where the client won’t even go back to get it fixed or speak up. Then I get them. And fix it. And they have to pay for another hair cut. And they’re happy. Fine with me! Especially when the client has a picture and the hair to do the cut. That gets me mad when the stylist says it won’t work or they do the cut completely different. There was one today at work. I was outside when the client had left and wanted to stop her and ask her if she was happy with the cut, (which I know she wasn’t cause it’s not what she describe to the stylist) and invite her back so I can re-do it for her another day. But she ran off to quick. I’ve fixed cuts from my fellow stylist as well, not just from other salons. Pretty sad.
Tell your stylist the truth, so we know how to treat your hair. Not to scold you for doing what you did to it. And speak up if you don’t like your hair cut. And if they won’t fix it, don’t pay for it and don’t go back.
And please stop cutting your own bangs.
